Luitwin Rémý

In Darkness

when darkness calls, I follow in a trance
I fail to see the day. I miss the glance
of early morning in the deepest night.
I search in vain for any guiding light.

I watch the moon, I watch it rise and shine
I watch it being eaten over time
and then it's gone. the night is black as coal.
and now I see the light moon's brightness stole.

the smallest star, beside the moon unseen,
now comes to life. and shines all bright and clean.
so even in the darkest winter's night
my golden star shows me the way to light.

it is the smallest light of our own dreaming
that shows, in darkest night, the brightest gleaming.
